Knowsley Services
Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council (KMBC) is responsible for a range of services in Cronton, which include roads, planning, housing, libraries, schools, benefits, waste and environment. They have a comprehensive internet site which provides access for ratepayers to a range of departments. We recommend, in the first instance, that people use the web site route for all enquiries and complaints .
The main site address for residents is : www.knowsley.gov.uk/residents.
The following site address should be used for on-line services such as reporting fly tipping : https://www.knowsley.gov.uk/online-services
If a resident has difficulty using this technology or cannot resolve a problem with the department concerned, a parish councillor may be able to help.

DOG CONTROL ORDERS
Knowsley Council has introduced a range of measures to promote responsible dog ownership in the borough following feedback from the public.
People who fail to comply with the new Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) face fines of up to £100.
View a list of restricted areas.
By introducing the order it is believed that it will strengthen existing powers and enable dedicated officers to deal with offences in a timely manner to the benefit of local communities across Knowsley.
The PSPO requires people in charge of dogs to:
- Always carry with them a bag or other means of cleaning up after their dog at all times;
- Keep their dog on a lead at all times in council-owned cemeteries, allotments and golf courses; and
- Not take their dog into certain enclosed children’s play areas, games areas or areas used for sport and leisure.
- Remove their dog’s mess if it fouls; and
- Put their dog on a lead if instructed to do so by an authorised officer.
The order will be in place for a period of three years from the commencement date.
Anyone found guilty of breaching the order is liable on summary conviction to a fine of up to £1,000. Depending on the behaviour in question, the enforcing officer could decide that a fixed penalty notice of £100 would be most appropriate sanction.
The new order came into force on Monday 15 March 2021 and follows a public consultation carried out by Knowsley Council.
